Bio

I always knew I wanted to be an artist.

My parents were free-spirited artists and I was raised around art and design.

I was classically trained in drawing and painting. My first love was painting but I also dabbled in photography. My childhood heroes were Salvador Dali and Diane Arbus.

At university, I honed my painting skills but everything changed when I was exposed (pun intended) to film photography. I re-discovered the work of so many inspiring photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Richard Avedon, and of course Annie Leibovitz, just to mention a few. I would attempt to emulate their styles in my undergraduate work. I became obsessed, at first incorporating alternative process photography into my paintings until finally focusing exclusively on camera work. I knew instantly that I had found my calling.

I graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Studio Art; emphasis on painting and photography. I soon began teaching digital photography at a local high school until going it alone as a full-time photographer in 2011.

To me, my work isn't just pretty pictures; it is an art form. I view each project as a new opportunity to collaborate with my clients to create artful portraits that are professional, affordable, and beautiful. I love constantly learning and experimenting with new ideas and opportunities!

I can't wait to work with you! I serve all areas of San Diego! Travel upon request!
